World Music Artist Nassiri's New Release Is A Melodic, Worldwide Journey With A Positive Message
Las Vegas, NV (Billboard Publicity Wire) March 31, 2008 -- The message from World Music artist and peace activist Nassiri is simple. He states, "The music must be pure for the message to be heard." And aficionados who embrace these positive words Nassiri delivers through his unique work will be immediate fans to his music. His soon-to-be released new album, Love Sees No Color -- World Peace Collection (Nassiri Music/Koch on April 29, 2008) is a compilation like no other.
Influenced by world, middle-eastern and western music, Nassiri's CD/DVD will gain the admiration and respect of those who enjoy Enya, Yanni, Josh Groban and Buena Vista Social Club. Growing up on the shores of the Caspian Sea, Nassiri was swayed by that culture. Although his influences are inspired by sounds from all over the globe, he is a fan of the Beatles because as Nassiri puts it, "Their music delivered a positive message of peace and love." His music reaches across so many boundaries mainly because it is a combination of many cultures that people can relate to. Nassiri adds, "I believe my music is a universal vibration and if it is positive, it can change civilization for the better."
With fans worldwide that includes a celebrity following with the likes of superstar Cher, Nassiri has toiled for 10 years, writing songs and creating this new CD project. Inspired by his studies, meditation and praying, Love Sees No Color -- World Peace Collection was recorded during Nassiri's world tour of 18 countries. The remaining 11 tracks on the new CD were recorded in the artist's home town of Las Vegas. And don't ask him which track is his favorite. That's a difficult proposition for Nassiri who notes, "I consider all the songs my babies, so I love them all." He continues, "Each person who buys my album will relate to it differently and enjoy the songs according to their personal tastes." Through his work Nassiri hopes to create awareness for the listener with positive sounds of unique music and messages.
Nassiri's music has won accolades from music critics and fans alike. The artist attributes much of this to his ongoing desire to put forward an upbeat theme. He says, "Music has changed so much in the last few decades, containing many negative messages. There haven't been as many new and truly unique artists as in the '60s and '70s." Nassiri sees all colors, nationalities, religions as one human being. His dedication to his craft is obvious. Nassiri adds, "I've always wanted to create my own music that is positive, unique and different with very strong melodies and positive lyrics, coupled with exotic instruments from different nationalities and cultures." In this album, Nassiri has accomplished just that. His future itinerary includes an upcoming tour of the U.S. with stops in New York and Los Angeles. He also plans to visit the 18 cities where he filmed his award-winning project. He notes, "Every leg of the world tour was fascinating, memorable, miraculous and an adventurous journey."
Nassiri and his film, "Love Sees No Color" received the World Visionary Award during closing night ceremonies at The 2007 Boston Film Festival on September 20. Robin Dawson, Executive Director of the festival commented "Nassiri was selected because of his recent efforts and passion in promoting world peace." The screening of the film at the AMC Boston Common 19 Theatres marked the east coast premiere of the unprecedented 12-minute film sung in 15 languages by thousands of children in 18 countries by 18 of the world's most talented directors.
In Los Angeles, Cher was among the luminaries who presented Nassiri to the Hollywood community. On her response when she first viewed the piece Cher simply said, "I cried."
In His Own Words On His Award Winning Short Film -- Love Sees No Color: "I had been planning this for 5 years when I wrote the song "Love Sees No Color No Race No Religion." I have been around the world promoting peace. The message is that everyone has the same emotions, whether you are American, Jewish, Muslim or Christian. There are 900 hours of filmed footage behind the making of these 12 minutes. In Iran we almost got arrested three times. In North Korea they had choppers over us with guns pointed at us. I was caught between Israel and Palestine when Israel had their civil war. I am a peace activist. The message is that we have to stop fighting and end poverty in the world. Positive music is supposed to heal us emotionally and raise us to a higher consciousness."
With an equal passion for recording in the studio and performing, Nassiri is embracing the new music technology of i-tunes and the internet because it allows him to find a larger worldwide audience and spread his positive messages and music. His live show is a combination of eastern and western melodies, with positive messages. What does Love Sees No Color mean to Nassiri? "It's a call to unite us all as one. And when the artist is asked what's the one place this world traveler hasn't been to that he hopes to visit someday: "That's easy." smiles Nassiri ... "Heaven"
